One of the things people tend to notice over time while doing excessive travel is the gaining of weight. I have been no different than others over the last decades. I have been writing an ongoing blog here where I lay out some of those details. Each person will need to fin their own way but here is where I will discuss mine and my family’s success with the KETO based diet. When I say KETO diet that means the reduction of one’s carbs down to a place where you no longer gain weight and/or begin to lose weight. I have discussed that at length here https://explore1stage.wpengine.com/lose-weight-traveling-via-paleo-keto-diet/ and I think this is a great place for others to share their tips on how they stay in shape while traveling. For me, the main thing was to begin cutting bread, and root vegetables. When I travel now for work or for pleasure I try to eat zero bread. I always try to choose certain vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower. There are others like baby spinach leaves for a salad and I limit any root vegetables 100% if possible. Now I started this in January 2019 and I’m down over 30 pounds right now. In 2020 my stability will improve and I’m going to go back to targeting 20 grams of carbs per day for one month and get my weight down another 10-20 pounds. I found that I can maintain all of my weight loss by limiting my carbs to 50-100 grams per day along with weight lifting 2 or more times per week. What I would like to know is what others do and maybe we can find new tips from each other that can benefit us all. So what have you done to keep your weight in check while traveling?
January 2, 2020 at 8:28 pm #232839As we begin the first of 2020 I wanted to start proving some information on what foods and progress I get in 2020.
My goto foods this month will be eggs, bacon, tuna, chicharrones, and other low carb foods. Once you begin lowing your carbs to 20 grams you will see a quick flush of water weight. I did allow myself to eat carbs for Thanks Giving and Christmas 2019 and plan to drop 10-15 pounds quickly with most of it coming from water weight loss.
January 20, 2020 at 1:02 am #232884Especially traveling to countries with great food it is for me hard to keep on a diet. After making some experience I prepared some tips. It is a post I wrote on my blog, you can check it out. For me, it works.
